Q: How many calories are in a serving of this food? How big is the serving? My male cat needs to lose weight and I'm looking at different brands.

The chicken variety is 366 calories per cup. A good size cat will eat ½ to 1 cup per day. Perhaps 200-300 calories on average. I would recommend a high protein/low carb food instead for feline weight loss. My cats seem to find high protein foods more satisfying but eat less of it overall. Physiologically, cats can't lose weight quickly in a safe manner, so it's probably best to make small reductions and weigh him frequently, then readjust.

Q: Has the "tender selects" version of this cat food replaced the standard salmon and tuna version?

Yes it has. Purina verified this for me. My finicky cats always ate the salmon & tuna. They don't like change. However, I did break down and try this salmon with savory nuggets and they actually like it as well as the old flavor. I hope your cats will too!

Q: is it okay for indoor cats to have these? or I should get the indoor advantage?

Our cats (we have 3 indoor cats) all love this food. That's saying something because usually there's one in the bunch that won't like what the others will. We feed them every type of Purina One -- Indoor Advantage, Hairball Formula, Urinary Tract, Tender Selects. I try to get whichever is on sale so they end up getting a variety. We like the product and the cats like it.
